G&Co. is a perfectly placed hair salon in Queen Street surrounded by a myriad of great places to eat after your session. It has a sophisticated vibe with very minimal designs, giving me a calm and collected emotion during my stay.
Their hairstylist said that they specialise in coloring, particularly balayages and blondes. When I looked at the photos of people who availed themselves of their specialties, you can see the stylists’ expertise shine. Past clients we talked to were also very happy with the service.
But what really made G&Co. stand out even more is its saunas! Can you imagine how relaxing it can be when you enter one of their saunas after a haircut? Honestly, it’s even better than you can imagine.
The only disadvantage of the salon is that it only accepts credit card payments, which can be limiting to some potential customers.

Situated along Market Street, Luxe Hair Lounge is an inviting and relaxing hair salon owned by two ladies who have more than four decades of experience combined, so you can trust that your hair is in good hands.
I really love that they use plant-based hair products to ensure shinier and stronger hair without compromising its health. Natural hair products are known to be gentle on the scalp and effectively reduce allergies.
Another excellent thing about them is the big discount in some of their services. They offer a discount in almost half of their services. If that’s not great, I don’t know what that is.
The only downside is their small team, which leads to limited availability. But, don’t take them for granted because of that. I saw with my own eyes how they apply their decade-long hairstyling experience to their customers who completely trust them.

“Saved my hair! Before going to Kayla at Luxe Hair Lounge I had a rough time with damage and blonde in hair turning green from copper pipes/metal in the water at home. Kayla took great care with my fragile hair, over 2 sessions bought my hair back with health being bought back in and blonde staying blonde! I was also recommended a treatment and special shampoo that helps with metal/clorine/copper build up, this has also worked really well! Today I look at myself in the mirror and I’m happy with how my hair looks and feels! Vamp Hair Boutique is one of the premier beauty parlors in Blenheim located in Arthur Street. It has a minimalist yet aesthetic white interior design with artificial plants and grasses on the wall, giving me a feeling that I’m connected to nature.
What’s amazing about this parlor is that all of their hairstylists have over a decade of experience. So, it’s guaranteed you will have a knowledgeable hairdresser anytime you pay them a visit.
It’s also impressive how they can expertly work with very different hair textures and styles. I saw them treat and style straight, curly, thick, and thin hairs with ease when I visited the shop.
However, some customers complained about dealing with a rude staff while booking an appointment via phone. While I didn’t personally experience this, it’s something that they should definitely work on addressing.

iHair has been operating along Market Street since 2012, delivering excellent hair services and products to Blenheim residents. Visiting them is like going to a hair salon and hair products shop at the same time.
Their work ethic makes them one of the top hair salons in Blenheim. Steve, one of their hairstylists, received praise from almost all the customers I talked to during my visit. One of them even called him a “hair guru” because of his attentiveness to his customers’ wants.
Another strong point is the large-scale hair products they sell onsite and online. Some products you may see in their salon or website are hair treatment products and even bundles, all from well-known brands like L’Oreal. Talk about a salon that truly pampers customers!
I’m just a bit disappointed with the price of their services. They are the most expensive hairdresser on the list. But, service-wise, they are one of the greats!

Allure Hair Studio sits along Market Street where you can go to cafes, department stores, and restaurants after a good haircut. Like most salons that made the list, they have a simple yet stylish interior design, making me feel completely comfortable during my stay.
What I really love about them is their silent service option. It’s a service where you and your hairstylist will have little to no interaction with one another. So, if you’re shy, this is the salon for you.
What’s also impressive is their expertise in hair extensions. I personally saw this during my visit when they did it to one of their customers. I witnessed how the extension seamlessly blended with the customer’s hair color and texture.
The only negative thing about them is they don’t give a full refund for a bad service. One of the customers I talked to said she didn’t like the result of her haircut before. What they have done is they fixed the issue, which made her happy (hence, she still visits them).

I was able to get an appointment fast and Amanda was kind and sensible as well as being professional and discreet in the manner she spoke about the other Salon/ hairdresser (who frankly had made an awful mess of my hair). She listened to me patiently to see what I wanted and did an amazing job fixing my hair colour. I was given a quote before the work began and not sprung with nasty surprises at the end. The price was very reasonable. The ladies were all calm and professional while obviously having a good relationship with each other and respecting each other. They weren’t loudly joking round or on their phones etc like some other places, all of which makes a huge difference to the ambience and your comfort and level of trust in their professionalism. “I’ve been having Becca colour and style my hair since moving down to the South Island in May 2021. She listens and talks through your wishes then offers different ways to possibly look at your style or offers a newer colour or style but isn’t pushy if you don’t wish make any changes what so ever.
